Well, once again, instead of committing to anything productive, I perused the archives of the now resurrected(much to my delight) poppolitics website, and read a particular article regarding the Matrix, German philosophy and the stronghold of capitalist and cultural industries. My mind half-numbed by lack of sleep, I comprehend enough of it to know that it is another affirmation of relativism and the complete paucity of absolute truth. I believe in some of it, I think, though I do believe we need a grasp of absolute moral truths. After struggling through my s lit books, which I've have decided ground themselves entirely in ambiguity, I'm quite exhausted about the state of the world. Trying to penetrate the thick steel hull of ambiguity in everything is at once engaging, challenging but ultimately wearying. Oh well. I have no idea what I'm talking about. Whatever it is, I did like the short section about how the use of reason as championed by the Enlightenment has devolved to our present-day bastardized use of rationality, which renders us all tools and slaves to reason that is divorced from its original use as a means of social critique and human emancipation.

I am keen on enrolling in some kind of class that will allow me to find more adequate and less clumsy expressions of my faux-philosophical thoughts. Till then, I suppose I will continue wandering around these intellectual things with a considerable limp in my gait. In other news, I am considerably tired and have accomplished nothing in the way of exam revision. I suppose I will mull over Shakespeare for dinner and splay my book with gravy and whatnot, in my tradition of fanciful-gastronomic-artistry-on-books. I did not get to go swimming again because I promptly fell asleep for an hour in my uniform, which my mother would normally shout at me for doing.

Oh dear. Help! The exams are in 3 days! I am a mess! My handicap when it comes to analytical ability does not bode well for me, because I was unable to discern what any of my teachers were supposedly hinting at during the course of this entire day. And it probably did not help that during the free periods Mandy and Drea and I just walked around a lot and I ate seaweed. Sigh. Oh, I shall brace myself.
