I've been plodding through my house in search of an adequate studying venue. I decided on my father's study, which is towards the front of my house, remote, surrounded by 40 year old literature, paintings, boxes and imposing solid wood furniture. Its very regal in its manner, rather like a gentleman smoking his pipe, if a room can be so personified.

Anyway, the interesting feature of the study is that it is also the site of my house's closed-circuit television. That is, it contains the television which shows me what all the security cameras around the house tape. Its very interesting, and for a few minutes I watched my parents eat supper instead of reading about European imperialists or Cleopatra dying in her high Roman fashion or Cordelia being noble or Keynesian economics. It was like watching a real reality show even though I couldn't hear what they were saying. Like watching a nature show, with the animals in their natural habitat. I found it very interesting, it must stem from the inner voyeur in me, or human's inexplicable fascination with other similarly, seemingly dull humans.

Also, I screamed at a couple of crabs as they wriggled and writhed in their last moments of life and ate them 20 minutes later. It was odd, and brought a whole new meaning to the term fresh seafood.

My life is very curious.

post-script : I'm downloading Before Sunset. Yes! Yes! I have evaded the deprivation! Also, I have watched the neweset Gilmore Girls episodes and have been dismayed by the Rory-Dean plotline, and hope she goes after the overprivileged cocky Yale feller who I have appropriately termed Blondie, due to the rather yellow colour of his hair. After mentioning "Blondie", I go on to sing "Heart Of Glass" to myself. I am a walking cultural referencer.
